Capital Campaign update

Eighty-three individuals or families made commitments to the Renew, Rebuild, Revival Campaign in March to fund capital improvements to our church building. Those pledges and gifts total $588,722, well beyond our goal for the campaign. Since pledge Sunday, $247,000 has been received towards the $469,722 pledged. With the building improvements in process, payment of those pledges is a blessing, so we can pay the bills. For a more complete update, see page 5 of The Messenger for August.

Church picnic Sept. 12 after rededication

Broadway's annual picnic at the church will follow worship and a building rededication ceremony on Sept. 12.

Church construction expected to continue through summer

Construction to renovate and remodel the Broadway Covenant Church building is expected to continue through August. The capital campaign raised more than $500,000 in pledges, and members approved resolutions providing for a construction loan and construction contract. You can track progress through announcements at church, in The Messenger each month, and on the Construction Corner site. More information

ALPHA coming again this fall

Prayer calendars available
The Missionary Prayer Calendars for 2010-11 are on the information table. Please pick one up and learn about the missionaries that the Covenant supports and how you can pray for them.

Skills Camp photos
In the week of June 14-18, children from preschool through sixth grade focused on sports skills and God's Word. Click on each day to see photos. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Or all!

Second quarter giving statements
Second quarter giving statements will not be put out until construction is complete at the north end of the church building. We are trying to minimize items that collect construction dust. We hope to have the north end construction complete by the second week of August, and statements will be available at that time. If you would like your statement sooner, please contact Jill Page or call the church office at 815.399.9296.

Please use your offering envelopes
The envelopes have numbers that identify you. This helps in the accurate recording of your contributions. If you have concerns or questions about this process, please call Jill Page or the church office at 815.399.9296. Also, please call if you did not receive or if you want envelopes.

Choir schedule to resume
Choir rehearsal will resume Sept. 1. Anyone who's interested in singing is welcome. For more information, contact the church office. Worship band rehearses at 6 pm, Wednesdays and Choir rehearses 7 pm on Wednesdays.

The third-quarter Covenant Home Altar is available on the information table in the southeast narthex.
